Once students have registered their thesis, they must take a minimum of 5 ECTS credits (40 classroom hours) in research training activities during the first two years of their studies. They will defend their thesis in their third year.
Research training activities are organised by the Department of Translation and Interpreting & East Asian Studies in the form of a Permanent Research Seminar and a PhD Summer School. Other activities are programmed within the Permanent Research Seminar by different research groups in the Department.
Students may attend whichever training activities they wish, but they are reminded that attendance at these activities accounts for 15% of the overall mark given when they present their progress reports for assessment each year. Attendance at research training activities must be accredited by way of Certificates of Attendance.
