Tradumàtix, or the translator's sovereignty

Tradumàtix is a platform that integrates a group of free software for the translation. It is a distribution of the GNU/Linux operating system, designed by the Tradumàtica research group and the Serim office of the Facultat de Traducció i d'Interpretació at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona specifically to cover any task of the translation process (translation, postediting, quality assurance, etc.) and other related tasks (subtitling, corpus management, desktop publishing and design, proofreading, etc.). Tradumàtix follows, in the field of the translation, the philosophy initiated by the GNU project in the eighties: to be able to do everything without needing to resort to proprietary to software.
