Methodology

This research will be developed in four phases and will mix quantitative and qualitative methodologies, in a project that will last 2 years.

Phase 1. January-June 2013: State of the art; design and validation of research instruments.

Phase 2. June-November 2013: Field study:

  1. Survey among companies to identify and assess employability competences required by the labor market.
  2. Key informants interviews to identify structural barriers for employability and to assess the competences to be developed to reduce them.
  3. Survey among educational centers to identify if and how they contribute to build up competences to access and transform the labor market through career development.
  4. Focus groups to gain an in depth understanding about if and how educational centers contribute to build-up competences to access and transform the labor market through career development.

Phase 3. December 2013-June 2014: Final report; employability guide for youth; employability guide for educational centers.

Phase 4.  July-December 2014: Dissemination of results.
