9th Oct, 2018. Physics and Ecology: Challenges at the frontier.
We are organizing, in collaboration with people from the Societat Catalana de Física, CEAB-CSIC and the University of Barcelona, a workshop that will take place in Menorca from 9th to 11th October.
The webpage with all the information is available here.
11th Sep, 2017. Nonstationary dynamics of encounters: Mean valuable territory covered by a random searcher
Our last peper on the ways that small organisms could arrange temporal memories in order to orchestrate foraging is already available.
3rd July, 2017. Talk in Zaragoza
Manuela Bedia and his team from the Universidad de Zaragoza have given me the opportunity to participate in a very interesting project, a summer school entitled "Escuela de Verano en cognición, vida e interacción" to be held in the Laboratorio de lo Intangible. A very interesting panel of speakers and a joyful time!!
1st May, 2017. Exploring the physical foundations of entropic intelligence
Today our funded project "Exploring the physical foundations of entropic intelligence" officially begins, based on the ideas of a recent and provocative paper by A. Wissner-Gross. We hope to refresh this page soon with exciting advances and results!!
15th September, 2016. Foraging success under uncertainty: search tradeoffs and optimal space use.
Today it has come out our work in Ecology Letters where we summarize the findings we have found in the previous years on the effect that uincertainty plays on the way living organisms orchestrate searches for foraging.
28th Jul, 2014. Winter Workshop in Mathematical Biology.
Our colleagues Luiz Alberto and Diomar organize a very attractive Winter Workshop in the Federal University of Santa Maria (Brazil). Here you can find a link to the workshop webpage:
31st May, 2014. Our work on human searches is quoted in the Guardia Civil journal
Here you can find the link with the interview to our colleague Fede Bartumeus:

4th Oct, 2013. Symposium on Physics and Visual Search
We have hold in our university the first Symposium on Physics and Visual Search, which has been organized as a way to bring together experts from differents areas of research related to visual search in humans and animals. We have had talks from eight experts in psychophysics, neuroscience, movement ecology and many other.
Details about the program and the invited speakers can be found in the Symposium webpage.
