Objetives and Competences

Objetives

The master's degree aims to train professionals, academic staff and researchers who will be able to integrate straight into the labour market or in research activities in the field of translation and interpreting, language mediation and intercultural studies.

The official specialisations for this master's degree have the following orientations:

  • Translation and Intercultural Mediation (professional)
  • Interpreting (professional)
  • Translation and Intercultural Studies (research)

Once you have finished this master's degree, you will be able to:

  • Use the specific study, work and research support tools appropriately in professional and academic contexts.
  • Resolve problems in new or unfamiliar environments and in broad or multicultural contexts related to your professional field or field of study.
  • Manage and produce specific actions for cross-cultural mediation.

Competences

They  will  possess:

  • Managing documentation on the field of specialisation.
  • Producing information in the fields of Theoretical and Descriptive Studies on Translation and Intercultural Studies.
  • Carrying out research in the fields of Theoretical and Descriptive Studies on Translation and Intercultural Studies.
  • Using specialised technological and computer tools for research.
  • Producing and managing specific action for cross-cultural mediation.
  • Translating and revising a wide range of technical texts (legal, administrative, scientific, literary, journalistic) and audiovisual and multimedia formats.
  • Using specialised technological and computer tools for translation and interpreting.
  • Act as a liaison, consecutive and simultaneous interpreter.
